Traditional Ornamental Eyes on the Shoulders

This shoulder project was prompted by a client who was looking for something symmetrical and visually striking to cover her shoulders. At the same time, she wanted something solid and easy to read, and after looking through the available designs, she showed interest in some of the flashes with eyes and flames.

There was also a need to fit the pieces with the tattoos she already had, especially on her right shoulder, so we used this side as a reference so the design would fit the area. By mirroring the other side, we solved the composition problem.

As always with these types of tattoos, the design was done with a very solid black, taking advantage of the skin space to complete the design. This greatly aids legibility, a very important element in creating a tattoo, especially when it comes to something symmetrical in a highly visible area like the shoulders.
