Colored Goddess Kali Head Tattoo

This visually striking skull project was developed for a client, also a tattoo artist, who was looking for a Neotraditional style design for his head depicting the Goddess Kali. In Hindu culture, Kali is associated with death and not only that, but is also considered a powerful force in the cosmic cycle of creation and annihilation.

The expression of the Goddess with her tongue out is perhaps the best-known version of Kali, and symbolizes her fearsome nature. Therefore, she has this fierce gaze that evokes that power. The color palette used also highlights all of this, with very vivid and vibrant colors like orange and red that contrast well with the black. As for the rest, although this area is one of the most complicated to tattoo, the piece fits perfectly into the skull and closely respects the symmetry of the lateral elements.

It was done in two separate sessions. The first session included the face of the Goddess and the second included all the ornamentation on the back of the head.
