Full Back Project of a Face with a Snake and Skull
This tattoo was done by a Chicago client who was in love with the Neotraditional style and was thinking of getting something inspired by Baron Samedi, the spirit of Death in Haitian Voodoo culture.
Specifically, he represents the master of death and the giver of life, representing the transition between those two worlds. This project covers the entire back, extending down to the buttocks as well. The main element is this figure with his almost skeletal face, the shading, the cigar, and that penetrating gaze, all intended to emphasize that mystical and defiant aura.
Clearly, to complete this tattoo idea, elements always related to Afro-Caribbean folklore were selected, including funerary symbols such as skulls, candles, a tomb, and also the crucifix and the snake.
