Undead Knight

In this custom Backpiece we wanted to portray a strong visual image of an Undead Knight, this allowed us to play with the skeletal features of both the knight and the horse, contrasting with the elegance of a medieval armour. The position of the horse and the flail held by the knight emphasize movement, making the tattoo more dynamic and flowing with the back. A strong use of full black, contrasted with a lot of midtown dotwork and plenty of skin tone to let the tattoo breath, and be seen clearly also from a further distance.
This backpiece was lined in 6 hour one session, and than some months later shaded two days in a row, both sessions consisting of 6 hours each more or less.
