Freehand Ornamental Tattoo on the Back and Shoulders

This back tattoo project was developed entirely freehand, aiming to fit the design to the contours of the area. It was completed in three long sessions.

In the first session, the entire design was done freehand, covering the entire back and extending to the shoulders, with all the lines defined. The following two sessions involved filling in most of the area with black ink, adding some textured dark grays to create contrast.

This tattoo flows perfectly with the body’s natural anatomy and is striking for its perfectly symmetrical composition. The space between the tattooed and untattooed areas gives the whole piece a sense of movement.
