Seraphim Angel

This rib piece is a depiction of a Seraphim, a celestial being considered to be an angel of the highest ranking within the celestial hierarchy. There are various descriptions of how a Seraphim manifests itself in the physical form, but the most common is an agglomeration of 6 wings and numerous eyes. In order to make a strong design with such repetitiveness or elements, we played with a strong contrast, making the wings in the back almost in a silhouette and the ones closer in a light dot work, so to differentiate very well how each wing flows and create a readable overview of the composition. With the eyes we aimed to emphasize the neutrality of the Seraphim’s nature, holding no will of their own or self ambition, so the best way to portray this was to make the eyes look as emotionless possible, an empty stare to nothing.
